Specialties & Services

Individual Therapy. Psychotherapy is about meaning making.  During our sessions I listen actively, without judgment or jumping to conclusions.  My primary goal is to understand you as to want to be understood - without rigid diagnoses or other labels.  The relationship we co-create is one of the common factors that contribute to successful treatment.  Every session will start with a focus on you and what will serve you best in the present moment.  Every session will end with a review of how the session went and what I might do better the next time we meet.

We will work together to fully understand who you have been, who you are in the present, and who you aspire to be. We will also co-develop a therapy plan focused on reaching your aspirational goals.

I generally work with adults (ages 18 and above) who are confronted with many types of issues and concerns.  These include life transitions (grief, life-threatening health diagnoses, career, retirement), identity shifts (gender, sexuality), relationship discord (co-workers, friends, family, intimate partners), and trauma (acute and complex).

Couples Therapy. Couples come to therapy to grow. Some couples want to explore how to grow closer together. Other couples are growing apart and are trying to figure out how to do that in the healthiest way possible. Ultimately, a healthy relationship is one where each partner learns to co-create a space where they can tolerate and name vulnerable emotions and remain responsive and engaged with each other. I work with couples in monogamous, non-monogamous, or polyamorous relationships.

Assessments. I am a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).  I conduct evaluations for readiness for hormone replacement treatment (HRT) and gender affirming surgeries. I also provide gender affirming care for adults who are addressing their own gender identity or are seeking support as an ally for a child, partner or friend.

Consultation & Community Outreach. I provide consultation services to organizations and communities committed to training their workforce and members in developing gender affirming relationships with transgender and gender diverse people.
